Trudi Galblum
A native of Washington, D.C., who’s made Kansas City her home for 25 years, Trudi founded Galblum Communications as a sole proprietor in 1991. Focusing on the nonprofit community, she has been trusted by more than 75 organizations – from grassroots to large institutions – to develop community support for their missions.
As communications consultant for Greater Kansas City’s Council on Philanthropy, she produces Voice of Philanthropy, the only publication exclusively covering nonprofit news and issues, as well as all materials associated with the Council’s educational and networking programs. She has scripted dozens of videos and authored histories, biographies and other projects for many of the area’s most respected organizations, foundations and companies.
Before starting her firm, Trudi was employed by the federal Department of Health and Human Services in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, first as a research analyst in Baltimore, Md., headquarters supervising demonstration grants and contracts, and subsequently in Kansas City as project officer for a quality of care peer review organization.
Trudi holds a Master of Policy Sciences degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore Co., and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park. She earned a Nonprofit Fund Raising Certificate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Bloch School of Business and Public Administration in 1994 and graduated from the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School of Jewish Studies in 2004. She has extensive nonprofit board experience in the Jewish and general communities. |
